Here is a good example of how far we will go here at Kings to get your ride dialed. This isn’t the first time…and won’t be the last.

Eclat makes a cool headset that comes with 2 compression caps……1 is low profile

2 is taller to eliminate a need for additional spacers past what is provided with the headset ( cause they color match the spacers and caps) for longer steerer tubes(looks clean).

Here is the taller cap…Isreal bought the headset…..He likes where his bars are and doesn’t want to chop his fork…. that’s fair since most of you are picky about what grips you ride.

His tall compression cap wasn’t made right…it would drag against the outside edge of the bearing effectively locking up the ability to steer. So he folded and has been running a black spacer with the low compression cap. I ordered another Eclat headset….same problem.

Since Eclat is from Europe and I can’t call the asshole who planned out this compression cap and tell him his simple mistake and ask for one that does work, and I doubt Taiwan cares much. I called up ToM…..ToM has a shop in his garage and was able to hook up Isreal….for free. ToM is the man…Thank You.

Lesson is…your shop maybe will do this for you….that a big MAYBE for most shops….your mail order.. won’t.

Support your local bmx shop… I know bmx companies let about any clowny shop carry their products…go the extra mile..to the bmx shop…it’s worth it.  Cause until bmx companies figure out selling bmx at none bmx only shops is hurting more than helping the industry we will all continue to be on that B list… and sold next to leg warmers and Lycra.

BTW>>I know the Eclat headsets comes with two thin metal spacers generally used to reduce imperfections and keep down noise. These should not and even if you put under the compression cap will not help this problem.

I’m not trying to hate on Eclat either…everyone blows it sometimes. This is just about who will help fix it.
